Yesterday was Girl-Child's fifth birthday. Which we celebrated on Sunday. And I'm writing about today. Since I'm strapped for time getting my presentation ready for BlogHerNot 2008 I will share her special day in pictures:
Seriously, this cake was the bomb, y'all. Custard and strawberries in the center ohmygod.
I totally planned for her outfit to coordinate with Chuck E. Not really. ...the odds.
That strapping, long-haired young man beside her is Boy-Child#1's eleven year old, life long best friend. He's also the coolest kid on his street. He plays ice hockey. And he is Girl-Child's future husband and my future son in law. Don't even try to come between her and her man. She's been in love with him since she was like TWO. She is all about the older guys. And he doesn't treat her like a pain in the ass [which he might in about five years if this infatuation persists].
The friends! And some siblings.
We interrupt this birthday party to show you my niece this cute baby!
Best friends. Soul sisters. Cousins.
Chuck E. Cheese get's all Dr. Dre up in here:
And just throw your hands in the air
And wave 'em like you just don't care
And if you got on clean, underwear
Somebody say, "Ohh yeah!"
"Ohh yeah!"
Back home with the loot and booty [note to self: good name for pub if I ever open a pub]. And who left the baby on the floor?
**some photos by Dorothy Z. and some by Mr. Farklepants. It was a battle between the Nikon D40 and the Cannon EOS 20D. As always, there was some bloodshed.

Girlchild? Is gorgeous!!! You are going to have your hands full, young lady. Good thing she's already promised to that handsome young man. I can SO remember being IN LURVE with my brother's friends. Ahh, there's nothing like a good old crush!
Happy belated birthday, Girl child!
You are braver than I am. I get a headache just driving by Chuck E Rat. I think the noise level in there is louder than a jet.
Your daughter is a doll. When she's older you're going to have to give her bad haircuts and dress her funny.
The baby's fine on the floor. Building immunity.
DAY-um your child is a BEAUTY, I mean really! And the future husband is a total looker - love the long-hair rebel stage he is currently rocking, good to get that over with early in life. Does he have investments yet? A paper route? I need to know more...
And this is how the Farklepants family celebrates? I want in. Can I be a long-lost cousin or something?
I will tell you in complete honesty that, as much as I enjoyed the Disney Princess phase, I was so. damn. glad. when it was over.
Happy Birthday, Girl Child!
Lovely & beautiful, except the baby alone on the floor & the camera smackdown bloodshed.
If I can continually associate Chuck E. with Dr. Dre, maybe I could tolerate [both of them] better...
That Five candle shot is awesome. love it....
Happy birthday to your little one. But um, did you want to kill yourself after spending that much time at Chuckie's? It is so darn LOUD in there!
Happy Birthday Girl Child!
More power to you for venturing to Chuck E Cheese!! I can't stand to step foot into that place! (Although they do serve beer - which makes it a little bit better)
Ahhhh Happy Birthday to girl-child.
I would like to thank whoever the Farklepants took the photo of Chuck E. with his hands in the air for I will be trimming it just right and using it as a lovely cover for my dart board. "Put yer hands up, Chuck E. or I'll shoot yer eye out! Oops, my bad, I shot ya' anyway. Sucka!"
Happy Birthday (belated, but IT'S NOT MY FAULT) to the Mini Farklepants. She's farkin' cute.
What a cutie you have! And seriously Chuck E.? I have nightmares about that rat er mouse. My kid idolizes him.
cuties. so glad you are still alive of CEC.....
You kinda lost me at "custard". Sniff... the cake sounds... beautiful.
Oh yea, and the party looked fun too.
Ditto on the beautiousness of your Girlchild and happy birthday to the Big Girl!
Chuck E. Cheese's? We don't have one here (which may be a blessing), but my daughter is CONVINCED it has to be the best place on earth. She wants to take a vacation there, right after Disneyland.
Can't wait to see you tomorrow at BlogHerNot!!
Yea! Looks like a good time was had by all! Can't go wrong at the Big C.
If I had been at a Chuck E. Cheese there would have been no pictures at all. I would have needed both hands to clutch my throbbing head.
But good for you and Happy Birthday to Cool Kid's future wife!
I cannot get over how farkin' cute she is. And how she has the exactly same hair as me when I was little. She's going to be a beaut, fo' sho.
Do they serve beer at that Chuck E. Cheese? They do at the ones in Nebraska which makes the Rat and the state tolerable.
Loot & Booty ... hmm, better copyright that one.
Great blog, TF.
CEC is an awsome place! You have no cooking, and best of all no cleaning up! All for $12.99 each? And beer?
All they need to add is a quiet room for parents to hide in.
Guaranteed it was Mr. Farklepants who left the baby on the floor whilst focusing the camera.
A mommy would never do that....right?
Wow, me and the 20D actually got credited for once! It is a special day.
Dorothy and her Nikon win again though for the "5 candle" picture.
NOTE: She also took the "baby on the floor" shot. The men were in the other room watching Family Guy during the gift opening.
I am inspired. You have single-handedly sold me on the Chuck-E-Cheese experience.
Do you think the other parents will notice if I bring a flask?
This might sound totally random, but what color is that nail polish! Love it!
Aww...happy birthday Girlie-Girl Chile!
Games..cake, Rat in clothes..a KOOL boyfriend, a bff..cute babies and gifts in a princes bag.. I wanna be 5 again!
This post officially made me want cake.
Girlchild really is gorgeous! So is The mouse, my kids are afraid of Chuck E Cheeses... wimps!
Well Happy Birthday Girl Child. Miss Peach's is Sat.!
She's gorgeous! I hope you saved me a piece of that cake.
Baby down! I repeat, Baby down!
-Stu
To Manager Mom - the color of my nail polish is called Pink Promenade Creme by NYC. I love all of their nail polishes! They go on so smooooooth.
She is so beautiful, Toots.
happy b-day Girl-Child!
and can I squeeze the baby's cheeks??? yum!
Girl Child is beautiful! And you? Very brave. I try to avoid Chuck's place at all costs.
Happy birthday to your daughter, and congratulations on surviving a party at Chuck E. Cheese.
