Yeah. Did You Get That Memo?

Is your house full of these?

Has your husband gone and replaced every conceivable bulb in the house when you weren't listening to him talk about how much money it will save looking? Are you a prefer-er of ambiance and accent lighting? Do these energy efficient bulbs make you feel like you're trapped in a cubicle muttering about your Swingline stapler and threatening to set the building on fire? Yeah. I thought so.

They can change your kitchen pendent lights to interogation lighting.

I think they appeal to men because they look to cool and technical.

Yes, I am a prefer-er of ambiance. I love me a dimmer switch!

Tootsie: our husbands were separated at birth. I can't hang lampshades on half the lamps anymore. . . let someone else save the environment.

Easy on your hubby. My hubby told me there was a problem with the wiring when I asked him to change the bulb on our porch light. It really was only the bulb.

I do agree with you, they create an eerie lighting effect. Not sure if that's what I am going for in the living room.

Husbands change light bulbs?

Huh.

I've been switching over, but the light is different. I have my fingers crossed that they will keep making improvements in how they light a room.

Heh.

My husband has put one of those in. And that's quite enough for me, LOL!

I really want to love them and so I'm in a self-deluding place where I say they're great. But if I'm honest, I say they are a tad creepy when it's gray outside...

Best of luck.

I did not like the physics-classroom-in-the-basement-of-the-science -building ambiance when I was 16 and I evidently don't like it at 35 either. I'll stick to my un-green incandescent environment-assualting bulbs for now, thanks.

You, too?! After months of arguing sorely over the lighting issue he pulled the "I'm in charge" card and just did it. What I hate is how long it takes them to get up to speed. Nothing drives me more insane than semi-darkness when you turn the lights on.

This is next on my list of how to make the hubby think he never leaves work...hahahaha!

Oh yes. The dark room syndrome. By the time the light "warms up" you're done doing whatever it is needed doing. In the half dark.

To hell with saving energy! Give me my damn ambiance.

I made up for it by spending all the money I saved on electricity on fancy light fixtures.

Oh thank Pete my husband isn't the only one who did this! And our kitchen lighting/wiring something is NOT compatible with these damned energy saving bulbs, so we blew all 6 and had to go back to the regular kind. What the hell, we already took the water savers out of our shower heads and turned off the safety on our water heater, we live crazy here!

ps have I mentioned you are my new favorite blog?
